I have been best friends of Neds youngest brother Michael for 34 years and through Michael i got to know very well. From the goodtimes at layhill and in Olney to playing guitars with Ned on top of the big meadow in WV. in the middle of the night, to the McKenzie famliy reunion. Ned had told me one time that i'm not just a freind of the family, I am family. I will never forget that. I will miss Ned with all my heart. Thank you Ned for all the good times and making me feel at home. May you be playing music with the angels..

I wish I could have known Ned better, even though I feel like he has been a consistent presence in my musical life with the way my dad will reminisce when I ask about â??the good olâ?? days.â? I have been privileged to meet some truly incredible people through my dad, and I feel fortunate to be able to say that Ned was someone I was able to play music with on more than one occasion. Youâ??ll be missed, Ned, but youâ??ll never be forgotten; partly because Iâ??ll keep asking my dad to tell me some of the good olâ?? D&D Revue stories.

My heart-felt sympathies go to you, Ned's family and friends. I knew Ned well in high school. He was so full of kindness and love, and still is. May God bless his soul. I know he's smiling down on us now. I love you, Ned ... that unconditional love that was always there for you from me.

I think it was in 2003 when I met Ned. We played music together from time to time and became very good friends. Ned was an accomplished musician and singer. He taught me alot about music and performing. In 2008 we formed The Friends of Country Band and performed on a regular basis in Pullman, WV, and other various occasions. We had alot of things in common, his birthday July 24, mine the 27th, we were both brickmasons, and of course the music. I think we will continue to have the show in Pullman, for I think this is what Ned would want. There sure will be an empty spot there. I will find another Bass player but Ned will never be replaced.
